October 1 is Glasses Day.
It is an anniversary established in 1997 by the Japan Eyeglass Association because 101 written in kanji looks like glasses "一〇〇一".
Glasses are an important item that characterizes a character. In recent years, in collaboration with eyeglass makers, special models of various characters' glasses have been released. Readers of Anime!Anime! know many interesting characters who wear glasses.
Therefore, this time, we conducted a reader survey entitled "Speaking of characters who wear glasses, who comes to your mind first?" We received responses from 954 people during the survey period from September 17 to September 24.
The male-female ratio is about 20% for males and about 80% for females. About 60% of the age group were teens, and about 20% were in their 20s.
■ Multiple intelligent and serious characters are ranked in!
1st place
1st place goes to Shimura Shinpachi from "Gintama" with an approval rating of about 22%, up from second place last year.
Many readers have commented that "Because the glasses is his main thing", and it is a character that comes to mind when it is about glasses-wearing characters. Many fans were moved by the comical scenes about glasses, "I laughed so hard when in the gender-bender arc the color of his glasses turned pink.", and "It was also interesting when characters disappeared, only Shinpachi left only with glasses were taken away."
2nd place
2nd place goes to Tsukishima Hotaru from "Haikyu !!" with an approval rating of about 8%, up from 3rd place last year.
Readers commented on the impression left by the character with several glasses, "Glasses look great on Tsukki with his intelligent vibes. I also like his sports glasses during the matches.", and "The usual black-rimmed glasses are nice, but the sports glasses he got from his brother makes me feel love between them." The reason why the votes were collected is that he is the only member of the Karasuno High School Men's Volleyball Club who wears glasses.
3rd place
3rd place goes to Edogawa Conan from "Detective Conan" with an approval rating of about 7%.
Special glasses are popular, "Speaking of glasses, it is Conan! Dr. Agasa's invention, the criminal tracking glasses that can chase criminals are cool!", and "It may be modified again by Dr. Agasa to add new features to the glasses, so I'm looking forward to it." Some readers commented on the unique to Conan reason to wear glasses, "He wears glasses so that Ran doesn't catch him, because without them he looks just like Shinichi when he was a child!" One place to top-3 from last year.

For Hoshimi Junna from "Revue Starlight", "Chairman's glasses girl. Not only is she particular about glasses, but also her birthday is October 1st, Glasses Day."
In the 2021 version, the ranking has changed from last year. Serious characters such as student organization members and class presidents stand out.
